NEUROSIS Through Silver and Blood (2015 US limited edition 9-track double LP pressed on Oxblood Vinyl, housed in a heavy duty Stoughton tip-on gatefold sleeve with printed inners and limited to 2000 copies. Originally released in 1996, this monumental fifth album from Neurosis is widely regarded as one of the most important and influential records in modern heavy music. Expanding far beyond the confines of hardcore and metal, the band fused crushing sludge riffs with tribal rhythms, industrial textures and vast atmospheric passages to create something entirely new — a blueprint for what would later become known as post-metal. The album’s immense weight and hypnotic pacing would go on to influence a whole generation of heavy bands, with artists such as Converge, Isis and Cult of Luna all drawing from the sonic landscape Neurosis carved out here. Tracks like Locust Star, Through Silver And Blood and Aeon remain towering examples of the band’s ability to balance oppressive heaviness with eerie, cinematic atmosphere.
