Originally released in 2001, this seventh album from Neurosis marked another major step in the band’s evolution, expanding the vast, atmospheric sound they had been refining throughout the late ’90s. Blending crushing sludge riffs with haunting melodies, acoustic passages and moments of near-folk introspection, the album shows the group exploring a broader emotional and sonic palette.
